Beyond the Score: The Tristan Effect - Wagner HD
Wagner’s opera Tristan und Isolde ushered in a new era from its opening notes. Composers as different from one another as Bruckner and Berg, Mahler and Messiaen, Schoenberg and Strauss, all responded vigorously to this new world of sound and feeling. Wagner declared that his work was “a monument to the loveliest of all dreams, in which, from the first to the last, love shall, for once, find utter redemption.”
This Beyond the Score production, featuring conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen and BTS creative director Gerard McBurney, presents the vivid story of the opera’s creation and its impact on musicians and artists of all kinds, and includes complete performances of the opera’s Prelude and Liebestod, among extensive other orchestral passages from this great opera.

No dia 23 de setembro, sábado, às 20h, o Centro de Música Brasileira (CMB) apresenta o Duo Cerri-Botelho e o Coral da Cultura Inglesa noCentro Brasileiro Britânico. O duo é formado por Sérgio Cerrina flauta e Flávia Botelhoao piano. A regência do coral é de Marcos Júlio Sergl. No repertório obras de Brenno Blauth, Ernani Aguiar, Fernando Cupertino, Francisco Braga, Francisco Mignone, Guerra-Peixe, Humberto Teixeira, Luiz Gonzaga, Pattapio Silva, Osvaldo Lacerda, Radamés Gnattali e Villani-Côrtes. Apoio Cultural da Cultura Inglesa de São Paulo. Grátis!
O Duo Cerri-Botelho vem de Ribeirão Preto e existe desde 1999.

Elbphilharmonie LIVE | Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester: Turangalîla
Extracts from Olivier Messiaen’s mighty »Turangalîla« Symphony were played during the Elbphilharmonie’s opening ceremony. Few works point so clearly to the future: a classical symphony orchestra meets Indonesian gongs and the ondes martenot, one of the world’s first electronic musical instruments.
On the conductor’s stand this Elbphilharmonie Summer concert is Ingo Metzmacher, for many years Hamburg’s General Music Director. On the stage: the Gustav Mahler Jugend Orchester – an orchestra founded 30 years ago by none other than Claudio Abbado.
